These statement earrings feature my hand-painted interpretation of the lovely Sierra Nevada Parnassian butterfly, with soft ivory wings, delicate black markings, and warm orange-red spots that give the design its distinctive charm.
Each butterfly begins as a miniature painting. The wings are individually hand painted with acrylic paint on canvas, carefully hand cut, sealed in resin for protection and shine, and then assembled by hand into a one-of-a-kind pair of earrings.
This pair is finished with coordinating accent bead details and delicate gold-tone wirework, adding a subtle touch of warmth and movement to the design. At approximately 3 inches long, these earrings make a graceful statement while remaining lightweight and easy to wear.
