These statement earrings feature my hand-painted interpretation of the distinctive mourning cloak butterfly, with its rich brown wings, soft golden edge, and delicate blue accents.
Each butterfly begins as a miniature painting. The wings are individually hand painted with acrylic paint on canvas, carefully hand cut, sealed in resin for protection and shine, and then assembled by hand into a one-of-a-kind pair of earrings.
This pair is finished with delicate bead dangles that add movement and a subtle pop of color beneath the wing. At approximately 4.5 inches long, these earrings make a striking statement while remaining lightweight thanks to their hand-cut canvas construction.
