These statement earrings feature my hand-painted interpretation of the monarch butterfly, with warm orange wings, deep black markings, and delicate white details.
Each butterfly begins as a miniature painting. The wings are individually hand painted with acrylic paint on canvas, carefully hand cut, sealed in resin for protection and shine, and then assembled by hand into a one-of-a-kind pair of earrings.
This pair is accented with a rich mix of natural obsidian, tiger’s eye, and snowflake obsidian, bringing smoky black and warm golden tones to the classic monarch palette.
At approximately 4 inches long, they make a striking statement while the hand-cut canvas construction keeps them surprisingly lightweight.
