These statement earrings feature my hand-painted interpretation of the beloved monarch butterfly, with its unmistakable fiery orange wings, deep black markings, and delicate cream-colored details.
Each butterfly begins as a miniature painting. The wings are individually hand painted with acrylic paint on canvas, carefully hand cut, sealed in resin for protection and shine, and then assembled by hand into a one-of-a-kind pair of earrings.
Small Czech glass bead accents add a subtle touch of color and movement beneath the wings, while delicate gold-tone wirework completes the design.
At approximately 3.5 inches long, these are true statement earrings—dramatic enough to be noticed, while the canvas construction keeps them much lighter than their size might suggest.
