These statement earrings feature my hand-painted interpretation of the striking Io moth, with its warm golden-yellow wings, vivid orange accents, and distinctive eye-like markings.
Each moth begins as a miniature painting. The wings are individually hand painted with acrylic paint on canvas, carefully hand cut, sealed in resin for protection and shine, and then assembled by hand into a one-of-a-kind pair of earrings.
This pair is finished with coordinating accent bead details and delicate gold-tone wirework, adding movement and a touch of extra color to the design. At approximately 5 inches long, these earrings make a dramatic statement while remaining lightweight thanks to their hand-cut canvas construction.
